Abu Dhabi Art: 2016

Manarat Al Saadiyat , November 16 - 19, 2016
Booth C13
Elmarsa Gallery is pleased to return to Abu Dhabi Art once again for its 10th consecutive year. At the 2016 edition, Elmarsa Gallery is proud to present a selection of key works by major Tunisian artists in a group exhibition at booth C13. The group show is centered on the production of art in the 20th century by important figures of modern art in Tunisia, who have played a significant role in the history of the arts in the larger Arab world.
This group show represents an evolving set of ideas among a number of artists who - both individually and collectively - sought new approaches to painting. Although modern art began, in retrospect, around 1940 after Orientalism and the European painter travelers, approaches and styles of art were defined and redefined throughout the mid-20th century. Tunisian artists of each new style were determined to develop a visual language that was both original and representative of the times. The selection of works displays the major trends and movements in modern art in Tunisia.
